Our Story

Stories That Heal. Futures That Grow.

The Lovies Foundation was born from heartbreak—and built on love.

In 2021, Our Founder Evalena Sazo's cousin Miranda “Lovies” Evans Bassett was taken from us in a sudden car accident. She was just 29 years old. A radiant soul, a devoted mother, and her best friend. Her passing shattered their family—and left her daughter, Ava, without her mother.

In the painful days that followed, Eva kept thinking: How can we honor Miranda in a way that gives her daughter—and children like her—a legacy to grow into?

That’s how The Lovies Foundation came to life.

We create personalized storybooks for children who have lost their parents—whether through death or foster care placement. Each book is written to reflect that child’s uniqueness. And every dollar of profit from that book goes directly into a fund for the child, which they can access when they turn 18.

This is more than a foundation. It’s a love letter to every child who’s had to grow up too fast. A promise that even in loss, their story is not over. It’s just beginning.

For Miranda. For Ava. For all the children who deserve to feel seen, supported, and loved.

We believe in transparency, legacy, and long-term impact. Every child featured by The Lovies Foundation receives their own dedicated fund, grown through the profits of their book sales and community donations.

Here’s what families and supporters can realistically expect:

  • Every book sale matters. On average, a single child’s storybook generates around $210/month in profit through steady community support, donations, and ongoing book purchases.

  • Funds are invested for growth. Each child’s fund is held in a secure, interest-bearing or investment-based account managed by the foundation. Over the course of 8 years, this could grow to $28,000–$35,000, depending on investment performance and monthly support levels.

  • Funds are released at age 18—but only after education. Before receiving their funds, each child is required to complete a 10-hour financial education and investment class, along with a one-on-one consultation to help them make confident, informed decisions. Whether they choose to pursue college, launch a business, invest, or secure housing—we make sure they’re equipped with the knowledge to use this gift wisely.

  • This is not a short-term payout. The Lovies Foundation is focused on legacy—not quick financial support. It’s about creating future opportunities, not just immediate relief.

Our promise is that we’ll do everything in our power to grow each child’s fund with love, care, and smart financial stewardship—so they know that even in the face of great loss, the world still has their back.
